As the Medical Director for the Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Stanford from 1998-2018, I have supervised and worked directly with hundreds of residents and thousands of medical students, and Dr. Bibi Das was easily one of the best ever, quite literally doing the work of two residents: wise and thoughtful, dedicated, compassionate, knowledgeable and well-read but also possessed of uncommonly good common sense. After graduating from Stanford residency she continues to be the first psychiatrist in the community that I think of, for all kinds of cases: people with complex medication issues, cultural considerations, family stressors, etc. I have also come to depend on her for her work in the community, helping families communicate better with their teens. There is no one better!
