Bibi Das, MD MBBS (HONS)

Specialist in psychopharmacology
I serve at the Stanford Wellness Clinic Committee which helps the medical students and residents with mental health issues at Stanford University. I speak about mental illness on the radio at NPR stations. I am also involved in the Stanford Chipao group where I put my acting skills to work alongside parents of high school students to prevent suicide.
“Beyond my professional endeavors, I love to paint, do organic gardening and serve fresh "farm to table" dishes to family and friends. I am a voracious reader and love taking long hikes with my dog.“

Professional Credentials

Clinical

I am a psychiatrist board certified in Psychiatry and Neurology who specializes in psychopharmacology and biological psychiatry. I have over 20 years of experience specializing in both bipolar disorder and OCD. I also treat patients with mood disorders such as major depression, other anxiety disorders, and attention-deficit disorder in adult patients. I apply what I have learned in 6 years of academic experience at Stanford Mood and Anxiety Disorder Clinics where I did both research and provided direct patient care, and also in my over 15 years of experience in private practice in Palo Alto, to help patients get back to their optimal wellness.

I start with a careful and complete, patient-centered, diagnostic evaluation. I may use pharmacogenetic testing to help further guide my treatment decisions. Pharmacological treatments are guided by evidence-based research and direct patient collaboration using metrics to measure outcomes. I believe in putting the patient center stage in treatment decisions and empowering them with an understanding of the neurobiology of their condition. Patients often choose my practice not only because of my experience, but also because of my individualized, collaborative, and informative approach.

In addition to direct patient care, I also provide education to medical professionals, patients, and their families nationally and internationally in the form of lectures, CME presentations, and Grand Rounds. I keep up to date with the latest research in the field and I am a nationally recognized expert in the field of Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Impulse Control Disorder and Pharmacogenetrics. I have done over 200 presentations to medical professionals in specialized fields of psychiatry.
